Dr. Sepah is adjunct faculty at the Western School of Medicine and PIH Health Downey’s Family Medicine Residency Department. In an effort to bridge primary care and psychiatry, third-year family medicine residents from PIH complete a four-week clerkship onsite at PNC. They are licensed physicians in their final year of training. The premise of having residents on site is to improve care on the micro and macro level as patients will have more physician interaction, greater attention to multiple facets of care, and ultimately this generation of physicians will enter the field with a greater understanding of what patients’ full presentations are, a perspective that includes the whole patient.
